DIMAPUR — Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Deputy Chief Minister in charge of National Highways, TR Zeliang, on Saturday inspected the ongoing National Highway repair works at Kezanu and Liezocha stretches under Jotsoma village in Kohima district.
According to a DIPR report, the chief minister and his team were briefed by Executive Engineer of PWD (NH), Bendang, on the progress of the work.
He informed that the stream responsible for the recent landslide, along with two adjoining streams, has been diverted to another valley and channelled through a single reinforced concrete (RCC) box drainage system to improve water flow and ensure slope stability.
The report stated that major components of the project—including gabion wall construction, earth cutting, and surface stabilisation—are progressing well, and the affected stretch is expected to become motorable soon.

Deputy Commissioner of Kohima B Henok Buchem, Revenue Officer Kevingoto Kulnu, and other departmental officials accompanied the inspection team.
