DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 6 : Naga entrepreneur, Neichute Doulo of Entrepreneurs Associate, Kohima has won the Social Entrepreneur of the Year (SEOY)-India 2016 Award – the results of which was announced on Thursday at an awards ceremony in New Delhi.
He received the award from Nitin Gadkari, the Union minister of Road, Transport, Highways and Shipping. Doulo was selected as winner from a list of top 5 finalists that include Shanti Raghavan and Dipesh Sutariya of EnAble India, Bengaluru, Vikas Shah of Water Health India Pvt Ltd, Hyderabad, Mrinalini Kher of Yuva Parivartan/Kherwadi Social Welfare Association (KSWA), Mumbai and Hilmi Quraishi and Subhi Quraishi of ZMQ, New Delhi.
The award ceremony was broadcast live by CNBC TV-18. After receiving the award, Doulo described the moment as “wonderful and unbelievable for me and my team from Nagaland and Manipur.”
Before television commercials replaced his speech, Doulo said: “I like to imagine the part [of the region that I came from as a triangle. From Kolkata to Lhasa (in Tibet) to Yangon (in Myanmar) and back to Kolkata, we have produced 7 Nobel laureates. We have (the) Dalai Lama, Aung San Suu Kyi, (CV) Raman, (Rabindranath) Tagore, (Muhammad) Yunus, Mother Teresa and Amartya Sen.” His number remained unreachable, while calls made to his associate could not get through. The award is an initiative of Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship and Jubilant Bhartia Foundation.
The Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship, founded in 1998, is a not-for-profit and a sister organization of the World Economic Forum. With the purpose of advancing social entrepreneurship as an important catalyst for societal progress, the foundation is under the legal supervision of the Swiss Federal Government and is headquartered in Geneva/Cologny, Switzerland.
Jubilant Bhartia Foundation, established in 2007, is the not-for-profit organisation of the Jubilant Bhartia Group. Doulo will be included in the Schwab Foundation network and benefits include access to a peer community of social entrepreneurs, services such as pro-bono consulting and legal advice, as well as scholarships to executive education courses at world-class institutions.
Rio fetes Entrepreneurs Associates, Neichute

Lok Sabha MP Neiphiu Rio has congratulated Entrepreneurs Associates for winning the Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award. At a meeting with Entrepreneurs Associates at his official residence in New Delhi today evening, Rio also congratulated Neichute Duolo for providing exemplary leadership and pathbreaking initiative. He hoped that the award will encourage the Entrepreneurs Associates to strive for higher goals whereby they will be able to impact more people, especially the youth in a positive manner and enable them to achieve their aspirations.
