
WOKHA — North Eastern Handloom & Handicraft Development Co-corporation (NEHHDC) on Wednesday organised a certificate distribution programme at its training centre managed by Charity Club Multipurpose Society (CCMS) at Blue Hill Colony in Wokha town with Mhabemo Lotha, functional manager of DIC, Wokha, as the chief guest.
Speaking at the programme, Mhabemo encouraged the youth to apply the skill learned for a productive purpose as weaving plays a vital role in terms of providing employment opportunities to many people.
He informed that the department of Industry and Commerce through the DIC is also trying its best to help the society in providing skill training and assist them financially to the promising entrepreneurs in the district.
Anuranjan Singh, SDO and project manager, Wokha, and Bidyut Sharma, executive officer of NEHHDC, have appreciated the participants for availing skill training in handlooms and weaving. They expressed that skill training and certificate programmes provided by the government of India is not only about receiving money and certificates but to enable the youth employable or facilitate to start their own units.
They further invited the certified trainees to visit the office for any assistance and availing soft loan.
Chonchio M Ezung, general secretary of Charity Club Multipurpose Society (CCMC), highlighted on PMKVY STT scheme and the activities undertaken by the society for the uplift of women in the district.
He informed that the training was funded by Government of India through PMKVY and supervised by NEHHDC. He added that the training began on April 18 and culminated on June 29.
The event was chaired by Renboni Ngullie, while the welcome address was delivered by Robin Enny.
Later, the certificates of completion to the 32 trainees were handed over by the chief guest and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Loreno Ezung.
