Mokokchung, July 19 : The Kilo Kilonser of the NSCN/GPRN Rh Raising on Tuesday announced that the talks process is in the final stage and appealed the Naga people to support and pray for the amiable solution.
Addressing the coordination meeting with Ao community, hosted by L Chuba Pongen, Deputy Kilonser (president, Ao National Worker-NSCN/GPRN) at Sungratsu village, Raising asserted that Naga society is in the process of transit and that solution may be transitional to final goal, but NSCN will never go for any kind of solution that betrays the future of the Nagas.
Saying that Government of India is now prepared to solve the Naga political issue by adopting NSCN and GOI as two entities on equal footing, he said, whether it is solution or problem, Nagas are the prime factor and will be the authors of our own victory and defeat.
“It is the Naga factor, not the Indian factor. Honourbale Ato Kilonser Th Muivah used to say about the ‘danger of self-defeat.’ If we cannot succeed today we will not blame heaven or earth we will blame ourselves. But we are fully convinced that we can overcome,” Raising stated.
Tracing that the Aos were the first among the Nagas chosen by Lord and took the word of God to the people in the dark and were forefront to lead people in the movement, Raising called upon the Ao brothers and sisters to nurture and harvest what they have sown.
He also expressed his hope that the Ao community would continue to be the strong towards the movement.
He conveyed the late chairman Isak Chishi Swu’s statement for reconciliation process and said NSCN/GPRN shall uphold and abide the statement made by him.
“His Excellency, the Yaruiwo, late Isak Chishi Swu had appealed to all workers of different groups to forgive past mistakes. We have also forgiven their past mistakes. He further appealed them to come forward and get onboard the bus of the framework agreement that was reached between Government of India and NSCN entities. We shall uphold and abide by the statement he had made,” Raising said.
He also termed that the Nagaland of 16- point agreement is an administrative state that deals with autonomous power and said the NSCN talk was focused on political state which deals with sovereign power.
Highlighting the different trials and ordeals of negotiation process taken place from the then Prime Minister Narasimha Rao- then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee- then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Raising said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken strong steps to move forward with those points agreed by his predecessors. He added that Prime Minister Modi is the architect of the historic “Framework Agreement’ on 3rd August 2015.
Raising also explained that Framework Agreement is based on the uniqueness of Naga history and the political position of the Nagas. It is founded on the universal principle of democracy that sovereignty lies with the people.
However, he said that it is mutually agreed that the two people will share sovereign power in some areas and also agreed that the two people will co-exist as two entities/equals.
Informing that Government of India has now recognized the Naga identity and land, Raising said, land and its resources including materials below and above the land belong to the Nagas and none others. However, there will be a joint venture in the matter of exploration and exploitation of oil.
On inter-dependent relationship, he said, “we believe in the principle of inter-dependent relationship among people and nations. This principle is applied to us in all fields - political, economic, social and military. We will build our relations with India and our neighbor based on this principle. We are for the inter-dependent relationship that respects mutual recognition of identities. However, this principle does not apply to the people who have merged their entity with the other.
