Dimapur, Aug. 29 (EMN): On the fifth day of the ongoing North East Futsal League (NEFL) held in Guwahati, Assam Titans and Mizo Falcons took on each other in the first match. The teams settled for a 1-1 draw, remaining unbeaten in the tournament. Aklanta Basumatary and Lalringsanga scored goal for Assam Titans and Mizoram Falcons respectively.
In the second match, Apunba Manipur beat Arunachal Highlanders 5-0 with Md Yasir and Md Shah Jahan scoring two goals apiece and Rajanibala scoring a goal, informed an update from NEFL media manager.
On Wednesday, Assam Titans beat Meghalaya Thunders 1-0, Apunba Manipur defeated Nagaland Super Five 3-1, and Mizo Falcons won against Arunachal Highlanders with a 2-1 scoreline.
The NEFL is India’s first-ever mixed-gender futsal league. The tournament, which is participated by six teams, kicked off on August 25 at the NC Bordoloi Indoor, Sarusajai Guwahati, Assam. The championship match will be played on August 31.
Friday’s matches:
Arunachal vs Assam (4 pm to 5 pm)
Mizoram vs Nagaland (5 pm to 6 pm)
Meghalaya vs Manipur (6 pm to 7 pm)
