Dimapur, July 8 (EMN): The deputy commissioner of Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant, on Wednesday briefed the district task force on BSL-2 laboratory, which is being set up at the Covid-19 hospital and stressed on the need to expedite the completion of the lab.

According to a DIPR update, the members also discussed about the lab technician who tested positive for Covid-19 on July 7. It was informed that the patient was admitted to Covid care centre for isolation and all his contacts have been quarantined and further tests are being undertaken.

The house also deliberated about the fire incident at Loyem ground on July 6, which burned some traditional morungs being used as kitchens to prepare food for quarantine centres and decided to reconstruct the morungs at the earliest.

The members further decided to strengthen awareness campaign on Covid-19 in the wards and colonies to spread safe practices such as wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining social distancing as well as awareness against discrimination of frontline workers and returnees.
