Kohima, Feb. 15 (EMN): Minister for Planning and Coordination and Land Revenue, Neiba Kronu said that the department of Land Revenue has drafted the ‘Nagaland Land Laws’, which is currently with the Law and Justice Department for evaluation and assessment.
Kronu was responding to concerns expressed by opposition Leader, TR Zeliang in cut motions for Budget 2020-2021, on Law and Justice department, for the inability of the people of the state to avail loan by mortgaging land in banks.
Kronu said: “Nagaland is still using the Assam Land Laws of 1876, which was amended in 1978 and 2002.” He assured that the ‘Land Laws Bill’ will be introduced in the next budget session.
