Dimapur, Feb. 3 (EMN): North East Christian University (NECU), Dimapur, recently entered into collaboration with St. Stephen’s College under the University of Delhi for certificate courses at St. Stephen’s College Centre for Advanced Learning (SCAL). The centre offers two certificate courses namely St. Stephen’s Young Leaders Neighbourhood-First Fellowship (YLNF) and International Relations and Diplomacy (IR&D).
An update from NECU informed that students of three postgraduate programme in international relations (PGIR) are currently enrolled in the International Relations and Diplomacy (IR&D). The course is designed for “an in-depth understanding and a ringside view of how international relations and diplomacy work in real-life situations.”
It stated that special arrangements have been made by NECU to ensure that the students get to learn from the best in the field while also enabling them to get a view of international relations and diplomacy in real-time. The course is part of the PGIR course requirements.
The inaugural lecture was delivered by Meenakshi Lekhi, union minister of state for external affairs. The other speakers for the course included Dr. TCA Raghavan, former India’s high commissioner to Pakistan; Dr. Happymon Jacob, associate professor of diplomacy and disarmament, JNU; Dr. Sumit Seth, director of foreign policy planning; Dr. Suyash Chavan, consul of India to Munich; Vikas Swarup, India’s former foreign secretary; Swashpawan Singh, India’s permanent representative to the UN; and Dr. Prabir De, professor of research and information system for developing countries, New Delhi.
