DIMAPUR — The chairman and office bearers of North East Congress Coordination Committee (NECCC) has expressed concern on the situation prevailing in Manipur, where many people lost their lives and properties worth crores was destroyed.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]A press release issued by the vice chairman of NECCC, Bobby Panicker, stated that the people of Northeast are always united and love each other like a family. He, therefore, appealed to all sections of people to maintain peace and restrain from further violence.
He also appealed to the government of Manipur and the central government to immediately stop the violence and maintain law and order and to compensate the victims. He further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed to God for comfort of the loved ones.
CMC: Chümoukedima Meitei Council (CMC) has condemned the communal violence in Manipur and termed it unfortunate that the present state government could not settle the issue in the initial stage. It appealed to the two communities, who have been living together for the past many centuries and shared common history of Manipur, to stop the violence and bestow peace in the state. It further condemned in the strongest term for destroying religious institutions and properties in Meitei dominated areas of which religion has nothing to do with any issue.
