Diphu, June 26 (EMN): The former journalist of NDTV, Biren Bhuta has called upon the tribes of Northeast to be united and work for better social development and reconciliation. Bhuta said this during his interaction with the Karbi youth leaders on June 25 at Karbi Nimso Chinghthur Asong’s office
Bhuta was on his visit to the NE region to know about the tribal living, culture, food habits, and social customs of the tribals. During his interaction session, the karbi youths informed the visiting guest about the historical background and nature of the Karbi community, its way of living, food habits, customary laws, and social customs.
Bhuta told the youth leaders that people from outside Northeast have a wrong notions about the tribes of Northeast. But after being visited some places in the Northeast including in Diphu, it has come to know that Northeast tribes are more hospitable, peace loving, and non-hostile, he added.
Speaking about various issues and problems of the region, Bhuta said that there are economic, social problems and differences of opinions among the tribes. Further, he encouraged the youths of Northeast to go for entrepreneurship as government jobs are shrinking each day.
Bhuta has already visited Manipur and Meghalaya. He will be visiting Nagaland on June 26.
