Dimapur, July 7: Governor of Assam and Nagaland, PB Acharya, was felicitated by Assam Bhawan Mumbai, Indian National Fellowship Centre (INFC), Assam Association Mumbai, Naga Students Union Mumbai, and Shreemoyee Asomiya Mahila Samiti Mumbai at a solemn function held at the Swatantryaveer Savarkar Rashtriya Smarak auditorium at Shivaji Park, Dadar (W), Mumbai, on July 6.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Sanjay Deshmukh, Vice Chancellor of Mumbai University, and attended by a host of dignitaries from across Mumbai.The artistes from North East Zonal Cultural Centre (NEZCC) showcased the cultural richness of the North Eastern Region of India by their spectacular performances alongside local artistes from the Assam Association, Mumbai.
The Governor urged upon the people of the North Eastern States living in Mumbai to participate hand in hand with different agencies and come up with initiatives for the development of the North Eastern Region. He referred to them as a storehouse of immense potentialities, who could bring about a positive change in the development of the country. He also urged upon the august gathering which was attended by different business houses, journalists, people from the world of art, culture and sports to make serious effort for the development of the North Eastern States of India in delivering justice to the country at large.
The Governor also participated in a interactive session with the audience and answered questions relating to valid subjects relating to the North East with special emphasis on the states of Assam and Nagaland.
