Kohima, Oct. 18 (EMN): The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has announced its list of star campaigners for the forthcoming bye-elections, scheduled to be held on November 3.
The party has submitted 30 names (maximum) of state leaders as its star campaigners to the office of the chief electoral officer (CEO). NDPP will be contesting for the vacant seat of 14-Southern Angami-I assembly constituency.
It may be mentioned that owing to the coronavirus pandemic, the Election Commission of India has issued revised guidelines for election this year. The number of star campaigners has been reduced to 30 from 40 people.
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, NDPP president Chingwang Konyak, general secretary and advisor to CM, Abu Metha, and NDPP working president Alemtemshi Jamir are among star campaigners of the party.
Besides the Independent candidates, all the four political parties—BJP, NDPP, NPCC, and NPF— have now submitted their list of star campaigners to the office of the CEO.
