Dimapur, March 10 (EMN): The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has congratulated the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) government led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio. The NDPP’s media and communication committee issued a press release to the media on Friday.
The party has expressed gratitude to the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) President Amit Shah, Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju; BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav; chief minister of Manipur N Biren Singh, chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh Perna Khandu, chief minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal, and chief minister of Meghalaya Conrad Sangma, besides the ‘dignitaries and invitees for attending the historic swearing-in ceremony and giving their support to the new government.’
The NDPP has congratulated also Nagaland’s chief secretary, all the agencies of the state’s government for organising the programme ‘in a flawless and spectacular manner.’ The NDPP has expressed gratitude to the people who attended ‘the historic swearing-in ceremony and supporting the new government.’
The organisation has called upon the people in general to pray for the new government and support the policies and programmes of the PDA ‘so that progressive and positive change’ is brought about in the state.
The party also thanked the chief minister of Meghalaya Conrad Sangma, and the president of National People’s Party Ato Yepthomi for supporting the leadership of Neiphiu Rio.
The NDPP expressed gratitude to the PDA partners for their effort to ‘bringing about a new government in the state.’ The organisation stated to be looking forward to working together with the alliance partners.
Also, the Nagaland Senior Citizens Association (NSCA) on behalf of all the elders of Nagaland extended congratulation to Niephiu Rio on his becoming the 19th Chief Minister of Nagaland.
The association saluted Rio and thanked Almighty God ‘on becoming fourth times chief minister of Nagaland which is a unique and record breaking in the anal of Naga leaders.’
A press release from the association president and general secretary, expressed hope and expectation that assurance made by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for development and Naga solution declared on Feb. 22 are implemented in reality.
“Repair and renovation of roads within 60 days in Kohima town and Dimapur town etc. declared on March 8 during your maiden cabinet meeting is meticulously observed and done in honour of your Hon’ble seat garnering people’s respect,” the press release stated.
The association wished chief minister good health, longevity and prayed that God give him and his cabinet colleague wisdom and strength to scale a new height under his leadership.
