Kohima, Feb. 7 (EMN): The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) unit of the 11th Northern Angami-II assembly constituency has acknowledged Visasolie Lhoungu, president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of Nagaland, and his supporters for ‘keeping the spirit of oneness and upholding the agreement between the NDPP and the BJP by not contesting against the alliance’s consensus chief ministerial candidate’ in the forthcoming state assembly election scheduled for Feb. 27.
A press statement from Vibeilietuo Kets, president of the NDPP at 11th Northern Angami-II, called upon the other 59 constituencies in the state to ‘emulate the spirit of unity and understanding to allow the alliance to form the government.’
In other matters, the unit has condemned what it stated was an incident that reportedly happened near Nerhema village where some unidentified persons blocked a road during the nomination hours. The NDPP unit has urged the constituency to maintain law and order and to the people, to cast their vote in Christian spirit.
Chumoukedima unit welcomes alliance
Chumoukedima unit of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has expressed happiness over the announcement of the BJP-NDPP alliance and voiced enthusiasm to work under the leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Neiphiu Rio, three time chief minister and member of Lok Sabha from Nagaland.
With the declaration of the alliance, NDPP appealed to all its rank and file to extend fullest cooperation to the partners of the alliance in their respective constituencies. It also requested all NDPP members in those seats where the party has not fielded candidates to extend support to the BJP candidates in every possible manner. The unit also appealed to all alliance partners and workers to extend support to NDPP candidates in the constituencies where NDPP has fielded candidates.
NDPP media and communication committee urged all the alliance partners to work in unison to achieve the goals of Prime Minister Modi’s development agenda and bring lasting peace to Nagaland. The alliance also assured to extend full support to the peace process and extend all possible cooperation in their common endeavour towards bringing a political solution that is honourable acceptable to the people.
The alliance further assured to bring good and transparent governance and draw a new roadmap of progressive development for Nagaland after the formation of people’s government after the general elections.
