Dimapur, Oct. 29 (EMN): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) has dismissed the claim made by Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP)—that the Leader of Opposition, TR Zeliang and NPF legislator, Yitachu were ‘hobnobbing’ with central Congress leaders in New Delhi—as ‘political conspiracy theory.’ The party issued a statement on Monday calling the allegation a figment of the NDPP’s imagination. According to the NPF, ‘the deregistration case of NDPP has become one of the most closely watched piece of news not only to NPF, but to the citizens as well as legal luminaries.’ “NPF is saddened to watch the sorry state of struggles within the NDPP to make a stand despite all odds against them but at the same time, feels amused at the way the NDPP tries to portray themselves to the outside world by putting a brave front even as their hope for survival as a political party is shriveled (sic) up deep inside,” the statement read. It also asked what ‘harm’ has Yitachu done to the NDPP; and asserted it was the NPF’s discretion to extend support ‘in the ongoing case in the Election Commission of India and NDPP has no right to question NPF.’
