DIMAPUR — The
Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has condoled the demise of
former minister, K Zungkum Yim, in Dimapur on December 6.
NDPP president, Chingwang Konyak, stated that Zungkum was a
friend and a colleague when they were both regional council members and later
as members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly from Tuensang in 1972 which
continued till his demise.
As a people’s leader, Konyak said Zungkum contributed in
many ways towards the development of Nagaland and its people during the
formative years of the State. He added that Zungkum left an indelible print
through his contributions towards the people of Tuensang and the Yimkhiung
tribe in particular and was instrumental in the formation and establishment of
the Yimkhiung Tribal Council.
He has further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family
members.
In another statement, Z Royim-led NNC-PB stated that Zungkum
dedicated his life to serving the people of Nagaland and worked tirelessly for
the welfare and progress of the state.
Royim stated that Zungkum played a vital role in various
organisations and added that his contributions would always be remembered.
The NNC-PB further conveyed condolence to the bereaved
family members.
