DIMAPUR — The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) Mon Region has declared its support for the decision of the Central Executive Board (CEB), which met at the party headquarters in Kohima on September 12, and welcomed the offer of the Naga People’s Front (NPF).


In a press statement on Thursday, the unit stated that following this development, the NDPP Mon Region office bearers held a joint consultative meeting with elected members from the Mon region at the official residence of Minister of Forest, Environment and Climate Change, and Village Guards, CL John, in Kohima on September 3.


The unit also conducted a consultative meeting with office bearers of all its frontal organisations—women organisation, youth organisation, and agri and allied organisations—at the region’s office on September 9 to discuss the matter in detail. It was agreed during the meeting to support the decision of the party.

Subsequently, on October 7, the NDPP Mon Region held another consultative meeting with all office bearers of the Mon region and its frontal organisations.


The meeting unanimously resolved to extend cooperation to the decision of the CEB taken on September 12 to call for a general convention of the NDPP and reaffirmed support for the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and party president Chingwang Konyak.
