Kohima, Feb. 23 (EMN): The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) Kohima region on Wednesday adopted resolutions to repose its trust and faith, and to work under the leadership of the party president Chingwang Konyak and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.
This was adopted at the party’s introductory programme held at its office in the state capital.
The house further reiterated its invitation to all like-minded persons who are willing to join the NDPP.
Addressing the programme, Advisor Dr. Neikiesalie Kire called upon the party workers to work in co-ordination and be honest with one another. He implored the house that strengthening the leadership of the chief minister should be the priority.
He also told the party men and women to re-explore the party motto ‘Facta Non Verba’ and work with efficiency in order to let their actions speak and not words.
Meanwhile, Advisor Zale Neikha said that Covid-19 pandemic had halted everything but the party workers should sensitise the schemes and reach out to the people.
Pointing out that there is too much propaganda, he told the gathering not to be misled by the same.
In his speech, Advisor for Technical Education and Election, Medo Yhokha maintained that the Angami / Tenyimia is known for its virtues, its nature of being grateful and respectful and reverence for the seniors. “Let us learn the dynamics of politics, let us learn the dynamics of culture,” he said.
He added that the Kohima region has to be assertive to strengthen Rio's leadership and the party workers have to talk about ideas and engage with people to the next level.
Menuovilie Kesiezie, senior vice president of NDPP central and convenor of NDPP, Kohima region election committee, said that the region should be more efficient to inspire others. He reminded that a true leader does not criticise but rather think and work for the welfare of the masses.
Earlier in his presidential address, Avio Tetso, President of NDPP Kohima region, called for collective effort as a team and challenged the party workers to work together in reaching out to the grassroots level.
The office bearers, various fronts and assembly constituency of NDPP Kohima region were introduced during the occasion and the office bearers took their pledge.
