DIMAPUR — Nationalist
Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) of 60 Kiphire-Pungro assembly constituency
organised a felicitation ceremony in honour of NPF and BJP party members, who
have joined NDPP on December 30 at the residence of S Kiusumew, MLA and advisor
of Fire Emergency Service, Home Guards, Civil Defence and Relief
Rehabilitation, in Pungro town.
An update from the party stated that a total of 325 members
from three different political parties attended the programme.
Short speeches were delivered by K Shellumthong, Convenor of
NDPP Kiphire region; Kiutsumong JK, NDPP secretary of central youth
organization; Lirimong Sangtam, former BJP candidate; LR Akamba, former MLA;
Zukiumong, Head GB of Singreo village; Chipong, former president of 60 A/C
Mandal; Thronghola, former BJP mahila president of 60 AC mandal; Khiutsiikiu,
former NPF vice president of Kiphire division; and Sethong, former stand-bye
candidate.
Speaking at the programme, Kiusumew acknowledged the
newcomers for their commitment to support the leadership of Nagaland Chief
Minister, Niephiu Rio, and the party president, Chingwang Konyak.
