NDPP convenes CEB meeting in Kohima

After NPF CEC resolves to invite Rio to rejoin party, NDPP calls for CEB meeting on September 12

KOHIMA — With political circles abuzz over the possibility of a merger between the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) and the Naga People’s Front (NPF), the NDPP has called a meeting of its central executive board (CEB) on September 12 at the party headquarters in Kohima.


According to a notice issued by NDPP president Chingwang Konyak, the meeting will be held at 11 am, at the conference hall of the central headquarters.


The notice, accessed by Eastern Mirror, stated: “In exercise of the powers conferred upon me vide Article V, Clause A (iv) & Article VII, Clause A (ii) of the Party Constitution; I, Mr. Chingwang Konyak, President of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party hereby call a meeting of the Central Executive Board on the 12th of September, 2025 at 11 am in the conference hall, NDPP central headquarters, Kohima Nagaland.”


The NDPP president has directed all members of the central executive board to attend the meeting.


Meanwhile, NPF president Apong Pongener on Saturday announced that he was willing to step down from the post if Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio decided to rejoin the NPF.
