
Dimapur, Nov. 11 (EMN): NDPP Nagaland commemorated the 70th birthday of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio by organising various activities across the state.
Medziphema: NDPP 5-Ghaspani-II A/C observed a charity day-cum-social work at New Indoor Badminton Stadium, Medziphema town on Nov. 11, 2020.The programme began with a brief function attended by party leaders and workers from the town, an update informed on Wednesday. Addressing the gathering, Zhaleo Rio, Advisor, Sericulture, Excise and Minority Affairs, "acknowledged everyone who came to participate and extend their yeoman service in commemoration of the birthday of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio."
He reiterated that members should be guided by the party motto 'Facta non verba' and advised the gathering that punctuality must be maintained at all cost if we are to succeed in our endeavours." On the tree plantation drive, Rio shared that proper care must be accorded to the new plantations 'since it's more or less offseason and urged the people, particularly the adjacent ADC office, to responsibly water and nurture them during the initial stages.'
Earlier, Dosau Kuotsu, President, NDPP 5-Ghaspani-II A/C, deliberated on the significance of the day and the works to be undertaken on the occasion.
Charlie Sekhose, vice-president, NDPP (Central) and district in-charge, Dimapur region, advocated that noble gestures are stepping stones for a brighter future. He further stated that different activities are being executed by all the five constituencies under Dimapur region simultaneously.
The function was followed by cleaning and plantation of tree saplings around the new Indoor Badminton Stadium, free distribution of masks and sweets, commemorative gifts for the old and elderly.
Viswema: The 15th Southern Angami-II A/C NDPP unit held a function at Viswema village in commemoration of the chief minister's birthday by donating solar street lamps to the seven villages of the constituency.Speaking on the occasion, Advisor for Youth Resources and Sports and local MLA, Zale Neikha said "Nagas need a strong and dynamic leader and politicians like Chief Minister Rio to lead the Naga people towards a bright future."
Neikha while appreciating the NDPP 15th Southern Angami-II A/C for donating 70 solar street lights to the village people, said as the 'light allows us to find ways in darkness, let our CM expose us to the path of truth.'
The head GB of Viswema village, Kevihopi Lcho on behalf of all the villagers pronounced traditional blessing for CM Rio’s prosperity and long life.
NDPP Kohima region president Avio Tetso led in pasting the NDPP symbol on the donated solar street lights.
Kiphire: NDPP Kiphire region has greeted the chief minister his 70th birthday on Nov.11. The region officials along with its frontal organisations visited District Hospital Kiphire and donated some cash and offered prayers for the sick people with the staffs and nurses.
Wokha: NDPP Wokha region visited Dr. Motsuo Memorial Hospital, Wokha in celebration of the chief minister's birthday. According to an update, the party extended financial assistance to all the patients in the hospital and made a donation. NDPP Wokha region, youth organisation led by its president, Amos Odyuo visited the Foundling Harbour Orphanage Home and donated essential commodities to the orphanage home, it read.
Shamator: NDPP Shamator celebrated the chief minster's birthday at the party office and organised social work in and around Shamator town. Meanwhile, the NDPP mahila team also visited patients at CHC Shamator.
Naharbari: Naharbari village organised a drawing competition for children to commemorate the 70th birthday of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio. It was organised at Chavara Children's Home, Naharbari in Dimapur by Tokheli, vice president NDPP and Margaret Ngullie, secretary NDPP.
Kohima: NDPP Youth carried out charity work marking CM Rio's birthday at Old Age Home in Kohima. The officials of NDPP CYO donated rice, dal, potatoes, oil, biscuits and soaps for the Old Age Home.
Zunheboto: NDPP Zunheboto commemorated the chief minister's birthday by organising social work in all the wards of Zunheboto town from 6 am.
Evergreen tree plantation was carried out at the deputy commissioner's official residential compound while free face masks were distributed by volunteers within Zunheboto town. A statement from NDPP Zunheboto stated that they visited Rochill Hospital Zunheboto, Hezukhu Memorail District Hospital and donated cash to the registered indoor patients and the Nurse's Welfare Fund. It said that they also visited Mt. Carmel Home, an orphanage located at Sukhalu village. The inmates were provided toiletry items including sweets and snacks. Some quintal of rice, dal , cooking oil, eggs and fresh fish were provided for, it read.
Dimapur: Minority committee, NDPP in commemoration of the chief minister's birthday distributed blankets to village elders under the banner “Blankets of Love-Charity Event”. The committee also visited House of Friendship Old Age Home and distributed some food items. Wall-mounted touch-less sensor hand sanitiser dispensers were also donated to Music School Dimapur, Railway Colony, Budding Buds School and Rani Gaidinliu Chatrawas, Signal Basti in Dimapur.
