Dimapur, Feb. 24 (EMN): The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has appealed to the citizens of Nagaland to vote for the NDPP-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alliance candidates. The party states that the NDPP-BJP alliance was committed to bringing good and transparent governance and draw a new roadmap of progressive development for Nagaland.
The NDPP issued a press release through its media and communications committee. The party appreciates Prime Minister Narendra Modi for visiting Nagaland and ‘for strengthening’ the leadership of Neiphiu Rio to head the BJP-NDPP alliance. Likewise, it appreciated the prime minister for his ‘sincerity to bring a political solution and for announcing economic and development plans.’
The party has instructed its rank and file to fully cooperate with the partners of the alliance in all the constituencies. In the assembly constituencies where the party has not fielded candidates, the NDPP’s workers should extend full support to the BJP in every possible way, it stated.
While appreciating the church and Civil Society for initiating the ‘Clean Election campaign, the NDPP assured support to the campaign. It directed all rank and file to carry out their responsibilities without deviating from the Model Code of Conduct and uphold the principles of the Clean Election movement.
Further, the party appealed to all government machineries, especially the administration, police and law enforcing agencies, to ensure free and fair elections ‘with utmost impartiality.’ It has expressed confidence in the institutions that are conducting the polls that they will carry out their responsibilities in the ‘most impartial manner.’
The organisation has assured its cooperation to the government agencies to strengthen the foundations of the country’s democratic principles by ensuring clean, free and fair elections, the updates added.
