NDMA invites nominations for Subhash Chandra Bose Aapda Prabandhan Puraskar recognising excellence in disaster management across India.

DIMAPUR — The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), NDM Bhawan, New Delhi, has invited nominations for the Subhash Chandra Bose Aapda Prabandhan Puraskar (SCAPP) Award, an annual national honour recognising contributions in disaster management.
According to a DIPR report, Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, B Henok Buchem, issued a notification informing all concerned about the call for nominations, in pursuance of a letter received from the authority.
The award recognises contributions in the areas of prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response, relief, rehabilitation, research, innovation, and capacity building related to disaster management.
It is conferred under two categories: Individual Award, which carries a scroll and medal, and Institution Award, which carries a scroll and plaque.
Eligible nominees include individuals, institutions and organisations such as national and state-level bodies, district authorities, research and academic institutions, NGOs and civil society organisations, as well as private sector organisations.
It has also been informed that nominations remain open throughout the year, and candidates may either self-nominate or be nominated by a third party. Applications can be submitted online through the National Awards Portal at awards.gov.in.
