The National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM) Scheme which was formulated in the country aiming to ensure that Government services and which are made available to citizens electronically by improving online infrastructure and by increasing Internet connectivity can now be accessed from every corners of the state.
The NDLM was formally launched in Dimapur under the administrative supervision of Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Kesonyu Yhome at the premises of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School.
Citing NDLM as a ‘massive exercise’, Kesonyu Yhome urged upon all stake holders and individuals should involve and part take in the mission so as to face developmental changes within the society while requesting the stakeholders to collaborate, co-ordinate and co-operate with the mission officials for a fruitful outcome.
He requested all the IT faculties present to take up the NDLM mission in every academic curriculum as schools are the key institutions that can reach out to a wider mass reaching across the state. And that the eligible students should appear and clear the online digital literacy test conducted by NIELIT and organized by Career CliniQ.
The centre with an aim to make every household of the country Digital Literate by the year 2020 has created the mission.
NDLM plans to provide digital literacy in each household across the country which would enable the beneficiary to use IT and related applications to participate effectively in the democratic process and enhance their livelihood.
The event concluded with a collective promise from all the stakeholders that together they would all worked in a phased manner towards achievement of the common objective of a Digital Literate Nagaland.
The farmers who are the economy builders of the country can also benefited in a greater way for buying and selling of the produced through various schemes under the mission.
The formal launching of NDLM was attended by all the district education and administrative heads including members of the Dimapur Urban Council Chairman Federation, members of GB’s Union Dimapur (Sadar), members of Ward Education Committee and IT faculties of all major government and private schools were also present.
The launching also witnessed short videos of the NDLM activities happening across the country.
