Dimapur, June 19 (EMN): Team from Nagaland Catholic Youth Movement (NCYM), apex body of Nagaland catholic youths of Kohima Diocese, visited St. Augustine’s Church in Chessore under Tuensang district on June 17.
The team, led by its spiritual director Rev. Fr. GL Khing, offered Holy Mass together with the community members, while Rev. Fr. Anthony, priest in-charge St. Augustine Church Chessore accorded warm welcome to the NCYM team, a press release from the team stated on June 19.
In his homily, Rev. Fr. GL Khing, told the community members to know church, love church and love one another. He also encouraged all parents to bring up their children according to the Christian values.
A short felicitation for fathers was also held wherein Veluhu Anthony Vero, president NCYM, offered a special prayer for all the fathers.
After the Holy mass, short talks were given by Khamkiumong L John,
NCYM general secretary, and Rev. GL Khing. John spoke on oneness, where he explained that Catholic means universal, which includes all sections of society. He also stated that by accepting the catholic faith, one becomes a follower of Christ. John also spoke on the importance of Holy Eucharist, Mother Mary and Holy Rosary.
Rev. Fr GL Khing, who spoke on community, said that everyone needs to play a positive role and make the community’s journey more meaningful.
