DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Contractors' and Suppliers' Union (NCSU), Head Office Kohima, celebrated pre-Christmas alongside the presentation of the Best Traffic Awards 2023 at Hotel Japfu in Kohima on Tuesday.
According to a press release, the Best Traffic Award for 2023 was presented to Benthunglo Tungoe from WPC North Traffic Control, Kohima, in the female category, and to W Nahfo Konyak from T/C South Traffic Control, Kohima, in the male category. They received cash awards and citations.
While handing over the awards, NCSU President Pele Khezhie stated that it was a simple gesture to recognise the hard work of traffic personnel in managing the capital city's heavy vehicular traffic. He also expressed his best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2024.
SP Kohima, Bharat Laxman Markad, commended NCSU for acknowledging the efforts of the traffic personnel, a recognition that is often overlooked by the general public. He expressed hope that contractors and suppliers would persist in providing high-quality services, even though their contributions often go unnoticed.
On the occasion, the pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church, Zakiebeituo Metha, shared the Christmas message from the Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 1, saying that everyone must have celebrated Christmas several times but this time they should have the birth of Jesus Christ in their hearts.
