Dimapur, Dec.16: Nagaland Contractors’ & Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) Head Office Kohima celebrated Pre-Christmas cum felicitation of traffic personnel at Hotel Japfü, Kohima on December 15.
The occasion was marked by felicitation of the best traffic personnel (men and women) in the state capital, which was awarded to Constable Hokali V. Chishi of 15th NAP (IR) Mahila Battalion, attached to South Traffic in women’s category and Traffic Constable, Methna Konyak of North Traffic in men’s category.
NCSU president, Pele Khezhie gave away Rs. 10,000 each and citation to the awardees and NCSU secretary, Imsünok Jamir led the felicitation.
Extendinggreetings on the occasion, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sosang Jamir appreciated NCSU for the concern through such annual awards to the traffic personnel. He also challenged the traffic personnel to improvise their work in controlling the traffic within the capital town with sincerity and devotion. He also urged the awardees to maintain the standard and perform much better to uphold their award. Registrar of Christ for the Nation Bible College Kohima, Laxman sharing Christmas message from John 3:16 and Luke 2:10-14, challenged the contractors throughout the state to be bold in glorifying God through their works and also share the love of the birth of Jesus Christ with others.
The programme was chaired by NCSU general secretary John Kath, while Pastor David Koza of CCRC Upper PWD Kohima pronounced invocation. Special melody was presented by Kekhrie Ringa.
Meanwhile, NCSU held its 41st general meeting on December 15 at the Conference Hall of NCSU Head Office Kohima, with the participation of district units of NCSU.
During the meeting, the house unanimously re-elected the present office-bearers of NCSU Head Office led by Pele Khezhie as president for the next tenure 2017 to 2021. This was declared and approved by the house through the Nomination Committee with Povotso Lohe as convenor and S K Rengma and W. Gpang Konyak as members.
The house also authorised the president to take up the matter on priority in consultation with the executive council of NCSU for expansion and reshuffling of office-bearers including various sub-committees of head office to terminate any of the office bearers or member of various sub-committees, who are not cooperating with him or union and not discharge their responsibilities properly and to appoint new office bearer or member in the vacant posts.
