NCS 2015 batch completes probation

Dimapur, Nov. 18 (EMN): The valedictory function of Nagaland Civil Service (NCS) probationers 2015 batch was held on November 17 in the Administrative Training Institute (ATI). L Youdang Jamir, Additional Director (Training), who chaired the programme, welcomed all the NCS officers and staff of ATI present. He stated that the completion of one year intensive training of the NCS probationers was a proud moment for the Institute. Dr. Hovithal Sothu, Course Coordinator for NCS Programmes, gave a brief report of the one-year training programme. He mentioned about the 4 months in-house classes, which was followed by 4 months district attachment. He also mentioned on outside trainings, which included village visits, Land Records and Survey attachment programme, police attachment, army attachment, which ultimately culminated with the All India Tour popularly known as the Bharat Darshan. Voluntary speeches were delivered by all the officers followed by a special number from Yithachu Thur and Tshelhiu. R Asenla Keitzar, ATI Director, briefly spoke on her experiences as an administrator. For effective administration, she advised the NCS officers to build a good team with the Dobashis and Goanboras in their place of posting; Develop good rapport and gain the confidence of the village council because they are the mouthpieces who will implement the instructions and orders to administer effectively; Take the confidence of the babus in the offices because they have the knowledge and experience to guide through; Never hesitate to approach seniors for advice; Be firm but not rigid, because sometimes a little bit of flexibility may save the day; Read old files as it will strengthen and enhance skills in office management and to be approachable. She concluded her exhortation with a quote from Robin S Sharma, “Leadership is not about the title or the designation. It’s about impact, influence and inspiration. Impact involves getting results, influence is about spreading the passion you have for your work and you have to inspire team mates and customers.” The concluding remark was delivered by Kevekha Kevin Zehol, Course Director of NCS Probationers.
