WOKHA — The Nationalist
Congress Party (NCP) held an Advent Christmas and fellowship programme on
Saturday at its office building in Tsumang ‘A’ Colony, Wokha town.
The event was attended by Yanrenthung Humtsoe, chairman of
MSME Promotion Council India, Wokha, as the special guest, along with party
workers from the district, youth, mahila, senior party workers, and party
advisors.
In his address, Humtsoe extended Christmas greetings to all
and acknowledged the district NCP party workers for their efforts in organising
the event. He noted that it was the first of its kind in the district to
celebrate a pre-Christmas programme for party workers.
Humtsoe lauded the growth and strength of the party under
the leadership of NCP state president Vanthungo Odyuo and the elected legislators.
He also acknowledged MLA Y Mhonbemo Humtsoe for his support, which, according
to him, “has helped the NCP Wokha district stand strong”.
He urged party members to put in extra effort, reminding
them that the growth of a political party comes through sacrifices and
dedication. He also encouraged them to continue praying for their elected
leaders, party members, and the five elected town councillors from the town.
Humtsoe emphasised that party members are the foundation and should act as the
roots of a tree, standing firm in their political stature.
Marking the celebration of Jesus Christ's birth, he
expressed that Christmas brings joy, peace, unconditional love, and prosperity.
The programme was chaired by Rhonthungo Kithan, President of
NCP Wokha. Lily T. Humtsoe, a member of the Wokha Town Council (WTC), shared
