The Nagaland Conservatory of Music performed in various parts of the city in collaboration with Toccata, a music production based in UK
The Nagaland Conservatory of Music (NCM) in collaboration with Toccata music production, a non profitable organisation based at Belfast Northern Ireland in UK performed from Aug. 9 till the 11th in Kolkata.
An update from the PRO NCM issued on Aug. 15 mentioned that the 84 member combined choirs performed in various locations in the city, culminating with a grand concert at Tollygunge Club in Kolkata.
Toccata is said to be a group of professional and semi-professional UK based musicians, united in the mission to use their collective talents to help support both the existing and new charities towards philanthropic endeavours.
Although primarily based in the UK, the group travels far and wide to perform, particularly to developing nations, with the aim to address issues of poverty and deprivation, the update added.
For the singers of Nagaland Conservatory of Music, it was an enriching experience by way of getting to interact and share cultural experiences with the visiting artistes, both artistically and personally, thus broadening their experiences, the release further mentioned.
