
National Christian Council (NCC) Nagaland Chapter will organise a seminar on “Wholistic peace and progress programme,’ on Feb. 12 at Niathu Resort, Chümoukedima, with John Barla, Union Minister of State, Minority Affairs, as the main speaker.
President of NCC Rev. Thungdemo Lotha informed this during a press conference on Monday at Eastern Bible College, Dimapur. He also informed that there will be workshop programme on Feb. 13 and the 14th.
Rev. Thungdemo said the programme will be ‘wholistic’ in nature and believed that it will bring peace, progress and development in India in a very significant way.
He shared that NCC is voicing out the human rights and Christian rights, and also working together with the government.
He informed that the workshop will include various courses including community health, community development, how to start business, and also display of pre-recorded videos from successful business persons from across the world.
He also said that there will be a significant programme for farming project and invited people from various aspects of life to come and join the programme. To join the workshop, he explained that a QR code will be shared by them through various social media from where they can scan and register themselves.
Thungdemo further informed that the NCC has tied up with different organisation as well as the government to provide facilities like housing, clothing, food and water facilities, and till date they have provided about 7000 facilities all over India.
He appealed to all the leaders from various walks of life to join them in the ministry for promoting the minorities.
General secretary of NCC Rev. Vanpong Phom said the ministry exists to serve the country by promoting peace and communal harmony, and that its primary focus is to develop leaders to serve the society at large with earnest dedication and sincere commitment.
He shared that NCC collaborates with all like-minded organisations serving various communities and deals with the issues of Dalits, tribals, women, OBCs, differently abled persons and other needy segments of the society.
Phom also said that with the forthcoming general election in the state, people might “misunderstand” the objective behind the seminar. He clarified that the Union minister has nothing to do with political agenda but that he will be coming as a ‘Christian brother.’
