Dimapur, July 2 (EMN): The ten-day annual training camp conducted by 1 Nagaland (G) Battalion NCC, under the aegis of NCC Group HQ, Kohima, at Loyola Higher Secondary School, Jakhama, concluded on July 2. A total of 539 girl cadets along with associate NCC officers from all districts of Nagaland attended the same.
During the camp, emphasis were laid on all round development of NCC cadets personality including imparting military training on subjects like physical training, drill, weapon training, and numerous other subjects of social importance such as national integration, motivation, career planning, and general health and hygiene.
To mark the successful conclusion of the camp, the NCC cadets organised a cultural programme in which Brig SS Dhankhar, Commander of NCC, was the chief guest. Fr. Victor D’Mello, principal of Loyola Higher Secondary School, Jakhama, was the guest of honour.
Prizes in various competitions including sports, tent pitching, firing, map reading, drill, and cultural programme were given to the cadets.
Col. Rajeev Kumar, camp commandant of the annual training camp, informed that guest lectures by eminent personalities on subjects of social importance like HIV/ AIDS, drug abuse, vector borne diseases, disaster management, health & hygiene were included in the training curriculum.
A weapon display and career counselling by 164 Naga TA battalion and 3 (NH) Assam Rifles battalion was also organised during the camp for the NCC Girl cadets.
