NCC girls launch Puneet Sagar Abhiyan campaign

Dimapur, Oct. 6 (EMN): Cadets of 1 Nagaland Girls Battalion NCC, Kohima, carried out a nationwide campaign on Puneet Sagar Abhiyan to free river banks and other water bodies from plastic and other waste materials.

According to a defence release, in addition to the cleaning activities, the cadets also made efforts to popularise the campaign through rallies, interaction with shopkeepers and NGOs involved in waste management and recycling, street act play, poster making and essay writing.

“The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness amongst the target population about the importance of clean environment and ecological balance and also emphasis was given on waste management,” it stated.
