
Dimapur, Dec. 19 (EMN): A one-week combined annual training camp (CATC-108) of 1 Nagaland Girls Bn NCC, Kohima, commenced on December 13 at Livingstone Foundation International Higher Secondary School in Dimapur, with the participation of 455 NCC cadets from various institutes of Nagaland along with ANO and PI staff of the units.
An update from 1 Nagaland Girls Bn NCC, Kohima, stated that the aim of the NCC camp is to impart collective training to NCC cadets with special emphasis on the development of qualities of leadership. It stated that the cadets would not only be trained in weapon handling, drill, firing and military subjects but also be tested and trained in stamina, hygiene, grooming and discipline through activities like tent pitching, tug of war, cultural programmes, flag area briefing and line area briefing and many more activities.
Col Manjeet Katoch, the camp commandant, informed that guest lectures by eminent personalities on modes of entry into the armed forces and Agniveer Vayu recruitment have been conducted so far.
Brig. PS Sangwan, group commander of NCC Group Headquarters, Kohima, interacted with the cadets at the camp and interviewed potential SSB aspirants on December 15 and 16.
A weapon display by 43 Assam Rifles battalion and lecture-cum-demonstration on disaster management by the State Disaster Response Force was conducted on December 18.
It further informed that cultural programme-cum-prize distribution ceremony will be conducted on Monday and the cadets would disperse from the camp site on December 20.
