
DIMAPUR — A ten-day combined annual training camp (CATC) of the National Cadets Corps (NCC) got underway at Assam Rifles camp in Wokha town on August 1 with the participation of 377 cadets from various colleges and schools of southern part of the state.
A defence release stated that Brig. Dipankar Saha, Group Commander of NCC Group, Nagaland, inaugurated the camp on August 2. He exhorted the cadets to grab the opportunities offered by NCC, especially those training events that are conducted outside the northeastern region and at the national level to broadening their horizon beyond classroom based teaching-learning process.
Report stated that the cadets would experience the soldier’s life besides rudiments of military life like drill, physical fitness, weapon training and other service subjects. It added that cadets would get an opportunity to learn the contemporary subjects like disaster management response, drug menace, skill development initiatives in Nagaland and opportunities in armed services etc.
The camp would culminate on August 10.
