NCC combined training camp underway at Pilgrim School

Dimapur, July 5 (EMN): Air Sqn NCC, Dimapur is conducting a combined annual training camp, under the aegis of NCC Group Headquarter Kohima at Pilgrim School, Dimapur. A total of 550 cadets from various institutions of NCC, Dimapur are taking part in the camp. Camp Commandant Sqn Ldr Chanchal Kishor, who inaugurated the camp, said the aim of the camp is not only to impart collective training to the cadets but also to provide opportunity to cadets to experience community living, thereby, cultivating the spirit of comradeship and to develop spirit of adventure and endurance, to inculcate value of discipline, team spirit and dignity of labour. It also to improve the standard of drill, firing, map reading and also impart knowledge on military subjects and to take part in social service and community development activity, he added. Col LT Sherpa, Training Officer, Group Headquarter Kohima, interacted with cadets and motivated them. He said moral duties and discipline are very important. Sarita Yadav, IAS of Peren and Vishal Chauhan, IPS, ACP, Dimapur presented lecturers to inspire cadets to join civil services. Training on weapon handling, firing, aero modelling, various military activities will be imparted during the camp. Lectures on various topics like first aid, fire fighting, traffic rules, national integration, importance of health education and personality development are scheduled to be delivered.
