
Dimapur, July 17 (EMN): NCC cadets of 24 Nagaland (I) Coy, who are currently undergoing the combined annual training camp (CATC-44) at Vidhya Bhawan Higher Secondary School in Dimapur witnessed weapon and band display organised by 43 Assam Rifles (Samtal Warrior) on July 17.
An update from 24 Nagaland (I) Coy stated that an approximate 320 NCC cadets from senior, junior division and junior wing of 24 Nagaland (I) Coy and senior wings of 1 Naga Girls Bn of Kohima NCC Group witnessed and participated enthusiastically in the weapon and band display.
The cadets were explained on various weapons of the Indian army by instructors of 43 Assam Rifles and motivated to take up the armed forces as a career.
On behalf of Brig. PS Sangwan, group commander Kohima NCC Group, Col. Daniel Lotzem, commanding officer of 24 Nagaland (I) Coy NCC Kohima, expressed gratitude to Col. Sumit Sood, commanding officer, and all ranks of 43 Assam Rifles for conducting weapon and band display to the cadets. Apart from 320 NCC cadets, NCC officers, permanent instructors and civilian staff attended the event.
On July 16, 13 personnel from Home Guards, Civil Defence and SDRF, Dimapur, led by Hav. Lipokshashi Aier imparted theory and practical classes to cadets on rescue and relief operation. Demonstration on rescue and relief operation was also conducted for the cadets.
