NCA announces Boys U-16 squad for Vijay Merchant Trophy

Dimapur, Nov. 21 (EMN): The Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) has announced the Boys U-16 cricket squad and support team for the Vijay Merchant Trophy 2019-20 pre-quarter final match.
An update from the NCA informed that Nagaland will play against Baroda from November 25 to the 28th at Amtar, Himachal Pradesh. The association has wished the team good luck for the tournament.
Nagaland Boys U-16 have qualified for the trophy from the Northeast zone for the third consecutive year, informed the update.

Nagaland lose to Baroda
In another update, the NCA has informed that Nagaland lost to Baroda in Women’s U-23 T20 Trophy 2019-20 played at Gokulbhai Somabhai Patel Stadium, Nadiad, on November 21.
Nagaland elected to bat first after winning the toss and put up a total of 51 runs for loss of eight wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Trishna (12 runs) and Sentilemla (11 runs) were the leading scorers for the team while Baroda’s bowling attack was led by Kesha with three wickets.
Chasing a low total, Baroda surpassed the projected score in just 9.4 overs. Baroda scored 52 runs for loss of just one wicket with Yastika scoring 24 runs and Jenita, 20 runs. Merensola took the lone wicket for Nagaland.
Baroda beat Nagaland by nine wickets.
Nagaland against Mizoram in Cooch Behar Trophy
Nagaland took on Mizoram in the Cooch Behar Trophy 2019-20 on Thursday at Sersa Stadium, Kharagpur, informed an update from NCA.
Mizoram were bowled out for 179 runs 64.5 overs in the first innings of the Test match against Nagaland on Thursday. Aurkapratim was a few runs shy of scoring a century with 91 while B Lalnunfela scored 17 runs for Mizoram.
Ram Jangir, Arjun and Ranjen took two wickets each for Nagaland.
Playing their first innings on day one of the Test match, Nagaland were 64 for loss of two wickets in 25 overs at stumps. Vedansh scored 28 runs and Afzal 22 for the team, while Lalrinfela and Priyansh took a wicket apiece for Mizoram.
Nagaland will resume their first innings today, November 22.
