Dimapur, Jan. 8 (EMN): Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has notified all the registered head of institutions that the Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, government of India, would be conducting its annual ‘Saksham national competition’ on essay writing, painting and quiz for students from classes 7 to 10.
The topic for essay writing and painting competitions would be ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav through green and clean energy,’ while questions for the quiz competition would pertain to fuel conservation, environment, general studies and general knowledge.
NBSE informed that PCRA is committed to make oil conservation a national movement. It added that the essay writing, painting and quiz competitions were aimed at raising awareness among young bright minds about the conservation of petroleum products in industrial, transport, agriculture and domestic sector, reduction of oil imports, energy conservation, importance and use of renewable energy sources, and how to practice conservation tips in daily lives, and save the environment.
NBSE also informed that the competitions would be conducted online on the web portal www.pcracompetitions.org. It stated that registrations by schools would be accepted from January 3 till March 2 next. School authorities are asked to visit the said web portal and disseminate information to the students.
NBSE further directed all heads of institutions under NBSE to encourage the students to participate in the aforementioned competitions positively.
In a separate statement, NBSE has notified all heads of institutions and candidates with special needs appearing at the HSLC and HSSLC 2022 examinations to submit an application for any concession/ exemption, if they have not applied earlier to the board. It stated that applications should be forwarded by the head of institutions where the candidate is studying with relevant medical certificates stating the specific concession/ exemption required as provided under the NBSE management of examination rules.
It further informed that applications could be sent through e-mail at hslcorder@gmail.com and hsslcorder@gmail.com on or before January 21.
