NBSE declares HSLC and HSSLC 2026 results a day early due to a technical issue

DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) on Thursday declared the provisional results of the HSLC and HSSLC examinations 2026, a day ahead of the scheduled date of April 24, citing a technical issue related to the timer.
In a notification, the Board said the rescheduling was necessitated due to the technical problem, while clarifying that the date for collection of documents remains unchanged as notified on April 18.
The provisional mark sheets will be made available on the NBSE website on April 24, and all heads of institutions registered with the Board have been asked to take note of the revised result declaration date.
In the HSLC examination, Aman Kumar of M.G.M. Higher Secondary School, Dimapur secured the top position with 98.33 per cent.

In the HSSLC examination, Keleno Thorie of Northfield, Khikha topped the Arts stream with 96.80 per cent, Shreya Debnath of Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School, Dimapur secured the top position in the Commerce stream with 96 per cent, and Menguhaankum Chang of St. John Higher Secondary Residential School, Dimapur topped the Science stream with 95.60 per cent.
The Board’s data showed that 79 toppers in the HSLC examination are from private institutions, while one is from a government institution. Dimapur and Kohima emerged as the highest-performing districts, while Wokha, Chümoukedima, Tuensang and Mokokchung were in the mid-tier category, and the remaining districts were categorised as low-performing.
In the HSSLC Arts stream, 14 toppers are from private institutions and one from a government institution. In the Commerce stream, all 13 toppers are from private institutions, while in the Science stream, 16 toppers are from private institutions and one from a government institution.
