KOHIMA, AUGUST 5
THE Kohima chapter of ‘Catch them Young’ crusade, a faith venture initiated by the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) youth department is all set to take off from August 8 and continue for the next two days at Local Ground, Kohima. The crusade, to be held on the theme ‘Honour and Enjoy your Creator while you’re still Young..:Ecclesiastes 12:1’, is jointly being organized by Angami Baptist Youth (ABKK) and Kohima Baptist Youth Fellowship (KBYF).
Talking to media persons on Tuesday at Kohima, the crusade organizing committee members said the programme was initiated in view that many youth are drifting away from the Church. They informed that the objective of the crusade is to bring young people from any background, regardless of denominations and particularly those between the age group of 13-35, closer to God. This is a spiritual awakening crusade challenging the youth to make the right choices, to find God and to live for God, says Visato Yhoshii, the convener of the organizing committee.
One main feature of the crusade is that youth counselling booths will be set up at the venue with a strong team of forty counsellors. NBCC youth coordinator, Khrievi Sahu informed that besides counselling, prayer warriors from different churches have also been appointed to pray for the young people.
Rev. Samuel T Koshy, who is currently serving as faculty and student dean at Southern Asia Bible College (Bangalore), will be the theme speaker at the crusade.
Other speakers include leader of Youth Harvest Ministry Rev. Killang Jamir, Baptist Mission Church Kohima pastor Rev. Moa Longchari and G Rio School Kohima administrator Khrienuo Longchari.
Participants are expected from 50 churches in Kohima among others.
