Dimapur, July 27 (EMN): On the eve of the by-election in th10 Northern Angami-I assembly constituency on July 29, the Clean Election Campaign Core Committee of the Nagaland Baptist Church Council have appealed to all the voters, indenting candidates and political parties to maintain peace and tranquillity for a free and fair elections.
The core committee of the apex churches council also reminded the political parties to abide by the 18-points pledge that the signed by the NBCC and the all political parties on June 22 of this year.it also reminded the voters to exercise their valuable " God given right to vote" for development and to bring positive change in the society.
"Buying and selling of votes and booth capturing is not only a sin but will eventually invite divine judgment," it further warned.
It also stated that, "In the context of Nagaland, be it voters, candidates or political parties, we are all Christian.
Therefore, NBCC CEC Core Committee appeals to all responsible Christians to keep their Christian values and principles above individuals’ benefits. "
It also appealed to all to prayerfully exercise their franchise with a clear conscience as they go to polling booth and not be influenced.
