Over the centuries the church has known God’s great man, but no one can deny that Billy Graham was the greatest evangelist of the 20th century. While the legacy he has left could be remembered by his associations with great world leaders, whom he counselled, or by the millions who heard him speak, he will be remembered most by the countless number of people who turned their lives over to Jesus Christ.
His commitment to the body of Christ and the work of the evangelist in which he devoted all his life, before his call to glory, is indeed remarkable. No wonder God chose him to be his spokesperson during our time and we salute him as a great stalwart of the Gospel and an inspiration for the generations to come. Billy Graham was a profound preacher who made the Gospel very simple, yet compelling to his hearer. The Baptists of Nagaland fondly remembers him for the Crusade he conducted in Kohima in 1972, coinciding with the 100 years of Christianity in Nagaland. This mighty man of God has indeed made an eternal imprint on the lives of many who are in the forefront of the Gospel ministry today. While we mourn his sad demise we celebration his life, his ministry and the eternal glory he now enjoys. Billy Graham was loved by many and will be missed.
