Dimapur, Jan. 28: Concerned over what it called as “the unfolding ULB electoral crises”, the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) has appealed all stakeholders to exercise restraint, patience and understanding for the larger interest of the people and ‘to salvage from the situation we are in’.
The apex Baptist organisation, in a press release issued on Saturday, called upon all churches across Nagaland to dedicate this Sunday, January 29, to pray for Nagaland. “While regretfully desirable outcome from negotiations have not arrived, we must also stop blaming each other because we are all aware that by doing that we have found ourselves in the present predicament of fear and apprehension. “Common people were anxious and yet hopeful thinking that wisdom will prevail but that too seem far-fetched at the moment,” the NBCC stated. “Pray for our leaders in the state government whom we hope to deliver the right decision at this crucial time in our history. Pray also for our tribal leaders who represent us. Let us pray that God will intervene, soften the stance, mindset of all the parties who have in their hands to save the situation. Let us also pray for forgiveness and humility so that God in His mercy will forgive us and show us the way to reconciliation, which will pave the way towards a viable future. If we are sincere in our intercession God certainly will not abandon us. He will listen to us for He knows that He is our only hope,” it appealed.
