DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) has announced a 12-hour prayer vigil scheduled for February 24, from 6 am to 6 pm.

“The concert of prayer is organised to express and experience the deep levels of unity among the Christians through corporate intercession,” NBCC general secretary, Rev. Dr. Zelhou Keyho stated in a press release on Friday.

In a time marked by polarisation and societal division, the NBCC emphasised the need for churches to come together in prayer and fasting to encounter God as a unified body.

Underscoring the importance of humbling oneself before God and seeking His guidance amidst challenging times, the council called for its constituent churches and members to “use this 12-hour concert time of prayer to intercede for the church, the government, for our land, our leaders and our people.”

The prayer agenda encompassed a range of topics, including guidance for church and government leaders, political unity, and sincere execution of policies for the welfare of the people. It also addressed issues such as the protracted Naga political situation, the well-being of missionaries, marginalised Christian minorities, education, agriculture, world peace, and spiritual renewal.
