Dimapur, July 21 (EMN): Northern Angami Women Organisation (NAWO) has strongly condemned the abhorrent incident of rape on a five-year-old minor girl in Tsiesema village on July 9.
The organisation stated it was dismayed and outraged by the heinous and inhuman act and expressed solidarity with the victim during this difficult time.

No one should ever have to endure a harrowing violation of their rights, dignity and autonomy,” a NAWO statement said.
It has called upon the law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and arrest the perpetrator at the earliest and ensure that the perpetrator face the full force of the law.
“For the detestable crime committed, the perpetrator must be held accountable for their reprehensible actions and receive appropriate punishment, demonstrating that such acts will not go unpunished or tolerated in any way,” it added.
Meanwhile, NAWO has urged all like-minded people in the state to join them in condemning the act.
It further appealed to unite in the pursuit of justice by ensuring that such reprehensible deeds remain an exception rather than a tragic norm.
