DIMAPUR — The 17th Music Awards of Nagaland (MAN) 2025 unfolded on Wednesday at Dimapur’s Town Hall, a collaborative effort of the Native Trax Society and Musik‑A.
Hentok Konyak received ‘Song of the Year’ award for his single ‘Kenlak Nang O Ute’.
Food & Civil Supplies Department Additional Director, Anungba Sanglir graced the event as the guest of honour, while Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA) chairman Theja Meru attended as the special guest.
Meru, in his address, praised the organisers of MAN, thanking them for establishing Nagaland as the ‘Music Capital’ of India and for steering the awards into its 17th edition—a notable achievement for a continuously running music award in the country.

He emphasised that Nagaland enjoys a vibrant music scene and that its musicians are making a powerful impact across India.
He said ‘this is only the start of a journey’ while thanking every musician for their hard work—for keeping the songs coming, for spending countless hours in studios, creating art, and pursuing their crafts. He added that the state Chief Minister has praised how musicians, both young and seasoned, are making Nagaland proud.
He expressed hope that the initiative would continue to grow from strength to strength, emphasising the importance of musicians and industry professionals meeting more frequently with corporate partners—not only from government but also from outside Nagaland. “I invite you to meet early next year to begin planning, so we can make the event bigger, louder, and expand the team behind it,” he said.
