  • DIMAPUR — The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has congratulated the organisers of the first Nagaland Super League (NSL), led by the Chief Minister, the Government of Nagaland, the Nagaland Olympic Association, the Department of Youth Resources & Sports, the Nagaland Football Association, all the sponsors, and the clubs and their respective managements for successfully conducting the tournament.

  • In a message, the party said that successfully organising and conducting such a high-calibre tournament, the first of its kind in Nagaland, was indeed a daunting and challenging task, which could not have been possible without the support from all corners of the state. The consistency and momentum maintained throughout the period of the tournament have been the driving forces behind the successful conduct of the NSL.

  • It said that the NDPP is confident that organising such events throughout the state will help further harness the vast sporting talents among the young people and provide yet another avenue for employment generation.

  • The NDPP congratulated the Barak Football Club, one of the oldest football clubs in Nagaland, for emerging as the ultimate winners, and the Longterok Football Club (LFC), one of the newest clubs, for emerging as the runners-up. The NDPP also congratulated all the participating clubs and their managements for taking part and keeping sports alive in Nagaland and expressed confidence that the next edition of the NSL will see double the number of clubs participating.

  • It also lauded all the fans and supporters of the NSL and the teams across the state and hoped to see the NSL grow into one of the biggest football events with the participation of national and international clubs.
