The performance of surveillance workers and malaria technical supervisor was also assessed and overall performance of NVBDCP programme reviewed.
The staff and health workers were encouraged to work sincerely and diligently, ensuring their presence at their postings and maintaining adequate logistics and anti-malarial drugs in all health units at all times.
Additionally, emphasis was placed on screening all fever cases for malaria, including migrant populations and those in international border areas.
The public was advised to observe 'One dry day a week' by emptying containers around their homes, such as flower pot bases, empty vessels, coolers, tires, and buckets, to prevent water stagnation.
This is crucial because dengue mosquitoes breed in clean, stagnant water, and their eggs can hatch within a week, it stated.
The entomological team conducted vector surveillance in the district, detecting the presence of vectors for malaria, dengue, and Japanese encephalitis. Additionally, a sentinel surveillance site hospital for dengue was established, offering confirmatory testing for the disease.
The findings were presented to CMO Kiphire, and necessary actions to be taken by the administration in collaboration with the department were discussed.
