
Tsoinchu Sangtam along with Dobashis, police personnel and
student leaders during the tobacco prohibition drive in Zunheboto town on
Wednesday.
- DIMAPUR — National
Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP), Zunheboto unit, initiated a full scale
checking of prohibited tobacco products, mainly targeting vicinity of educational
institutions on Wednesday.
- The drive was carried under COPTA 2003, which prohibits
advertisement and regulation of Trade and Commerce Acts under Section 6, which
further prohibits sale of tobacco products within 100 meters of educational
institutions.
- The drive was jointly conducted by district administration
officials led by EAC of Zunheboto, Tsoinchu Sangtam, Dobashis, police
personnel, officials from Zunheboto Range Students' Union (ZRSU), Sumi Youth
Organisation (SYO) and No Tobacco Club Zunheboto.
- A DIPR report stated that the seized products were later
destroyed as per the department's disposal system.
- In another programme, Safer Internet Day was celebrated at
the conference hall of the deputy commissioner's office in Zunheboto town on
February 12 with the motive to raising awareness on online risks and supporting
privacy and security.
- The DC of Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali, while delivering
the introductory remarks, expressed his concern on the current scale of
cyber-crimes and frauds across the world.
- DIO of NIC, Zunheboto centre, Pragati Wihangam, made a
presentation focusing on means to mitigate cyber frauds and awareness on
cyber-criminal activities.
